Langton Language Consortium
The Langton Language Consortium - a group of like-minded professionals in Language teaching across Kent and further afield (as far as Belfast) - was launched on the 11 November. Our Patron is Baroness Jean Coussins who spoke to the students on International Day in October. This is what she had to say about supporting the Consortium :
"I am delighted to be associated with this trailblazing initiative at Simon Langton Girls' Grammar School and the Langton Language Centre. Putting languages at the heart of the curriculum and the whole ethos of internationalism will give students a real cutting edge when it comes to their future life chances and choices, not to mention the fun and pleasure of learning about other cultures. An international mindset is vital for personal and national success, prosperity and influence in the 21st century and this Consortium will be a valuable template for others to follow. I will continue to do all I can through my parliamentary work to champion languages and to remove the barriers to learning.”
