ARTiculation success!
BackCongratulations to Dolly in Year 13 for being awarded 3rd place in the regional South East finals for the ARTiculation Prize, which is a national competition, facilitated by The National Gallery.
Highly esteemed contemporary artist, Jyll Bradley who was one of this year’s adjudicators, thanked all speakers for their presentations, describing them as ‘extraordinary’. She congratulated Dolly on showing us how important the context of viewing art is, and for reminding us all that art is a journey of self-discovery.
The Articulation Prize is a nationally acclaimed public speaking initiative for young people, aged between 16 and 19, designed to promote the appreciation and discussion of visual culture. Candidates are invited to deliver a 10-minute presentation to an audience about a work of art, architecture or an artefact in a museum or gallery setting. Adjudicators then assess each presentation as a whole, looking at content, structure, delivery and the speaker’s original approach and unique potential.
This is an amazing achievement! It was a great pleasure to hear Dolly speak so passionately and eloquently about her selected art work.
